In the near future, more than 15 percent of the world’s population have an ability like being super strong, super fast or be able to read minds. The world has adapted to them creating new alliances, nations and way of life.
It has also created a new gap between those normal and those with an ability. Adaru Sepien feels a normal teenager like him has been left behind. He has given up in living in Alpha Zone One, one of the four cities in the North America Republic that only people with abilities are allowed to live and everyone believes they will have a better life. He has made peace with it. After all, he doesn’t want to live with the “feaks” as his jailed father calls them.
However, his sister Faith has begun showing signs she has abilities. Her dreams start becoming true and the earth trembles when she is upset. Faith fears living in the Zone, because her more recurrent nightmare tells someone will harm her if she is discovered. Failing to hide her from authorities, Adaru claims he is the one with an ability so Faith can remain safe from the man she sees in her dreams.
Even after fooling the authorities, Adaru would have to face school bullies with abilities, a cop who knows his father, and residents who are becoming animals.
Can he beat his own prejudices to accept Faith? What abilities cold she possible have?
